Our New House/Student Mission Trip
May 12th, 2008
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
As of March 31th, through much prayer and waiting on the Lord, Albert and I have finally found a house. “Praise the LORD“, for almost a year now we have been looking and waiting patiently on the Lord to guide us and direct us in where to go, waiting for that perfect house you could say. And when the first time I saw it I knew in my heart that is the one the Lord has for us.
We have been in there now for little over a month and have been so blessed, just this past month we were able to have the students come for there mission trip and stay with us and break in the new house you could say. It was such a blessing to be able to bless them with what the LORD has given us. Our heart is that as the Lord has blesses us we want to return the favor to others and bless them.
It is 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, an office, Kitchen, living room, dinner room, it has two little gardens, and on the 3rd floor we have a patio to where we can see all over Iquitos.
CCBC Lima, Peru Mission Trip to Iquitos!!!
On April 18-26 the Students from the Bible College came down for a week to help us with the ministry here. It was such a blessing for them to be here and encourage us and help us with what the LORD is doing here in Iquitos.
We were busy with dramas on the boulevard, kids programs, street evangelism, work on the new house, Panguana river trip, playing and loving on the street kids, visiting Belen (floating City), youth group, womans ministry, church and as well we had our 2nd year anniversary for the church.
It was so awesome to see the students and there willing hearts to get out of there comfort zone and serve the Lord. At times reallying stepping out in faith and trusting the Lord that He would equip them for what they had to do, even in moments that were all the sudden. As well the enemy was at work and we could see that he wanted to divide us but as the LORD was and is faithful He didn’t allow him to do that. The Lord had greater plans then what we thought or had.
We Had great times of worship, fellowship, sharing our hearts and what the Lord was speaking to us in, seeing people receive the Lord, streets kids being able to play and have fun and just being kids, and not having that burden of, “I have to work.” Just a little culture info with most of the kids here they have jobs which are on the streets whether that is to help make money for there parents or for themselves, and its sad to see that them working at times b/c in a way they are missing out on what it feels like to be a kid b/c they are working. So its always great to be able to play with them and make them laugh and have a great time, always letting them know that it’s ok to be a kid.
Over all just to say that the Lord was faithful!!! It wasn’t anything that we or the Students did but it was what He did through us. As long as we were willing to be used, He used us and it was cool to see the Lord do that.
“But w/o faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6
As for me personally just in these past few months the Lord has been bring me back to the importance of intimacy with Him. A great teacher I love to listen to a lot once said that, “True ministry flows from intimacy.” I see that so much in my life as the Lord has placed me here, that if I am not in true intimate fellowship w/ Him then my ministry that He has given me is effected. I pray that I am faithful to what he has called me to do and that w/ all my heart that I might do it (I Timothy 4:5,7). Not for the glory of Jeremy but for the GLORY of our KING!!!
